摘 要 (Abstract): To understand the alternative theories in the context of supermassive black holes, we investigate the impact of loop quantum gravity on the accretion flow of Sgr A∗. To do that, we performed several general relativistic magnetohydrodynamic (GRMHD) simulations and general relativistic ray tracing (GRRT) calculations in a loop quantum gravity spacetime. The results indicate that loop quantum black holes (LQBH) exhibit an increased angular frequency compared to Kerr BH, resulting in a stronger frame-dragging effect and Blandford–Znajek jet. This stronger frame-dragging effect from LQBH generates a more potent toroidal magnetic field, leading to a lower accretion rate. Additionally, LQBHs display a larger black hole shadow compared to Kerr black holes with the same dimensionless spin. By comparing the shadow size with the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) observations, we find an upper limit for the polymeric function P ≲ 0.2 for Sgr A∗. On the jet power front, most of the SANE models failed to generate a strong enough jet to match the EHT result. We also find that in the intermediate spin range, LQBH can extract almost double the energy through the BZ jet as compared to Kerr BH.

报告人简介(Bio): Hongxuan Jiang, a second-year Ph.D. student at the Tsung-Dao Lee Institute, is studying GRMHD and GRRT simulations supervised by Prof. Yosuke Mizuno. His research focuses on flares from Sagittarius A* and particle acceleration within it. He also works on the simulation of loop quantum black holes. Previously, he worked on core-collapse supernova at Sichuan University under Prof. Xuewen Liu.
