报告题目:Revealing the formation channels of the Merging Black Holes

报告人:王远瞩

报告时间:2023年4月19日(周三)上午10:00-11:30

报告地点:浙江工业大学理学楼A 二楼师生活动中心

报告摘要 (Abstract): To date, more than 90 BBH merger candidates have been detected by the advanced LIGO/Virgo, and important information about their properties has been released in the current catalogs of compact binary coalescences. However, the origins of these BBHs are still a subject of debate. In this presentation, I will introduce several efforts by the scientific community to distinguish between different formation channels. This will include analyzing data from individual events and identifying sub-populations in the distributions of BBH properties.

报告人简介(Bio): 王远瞩,Yuanzhu Wang is currently an assistant researcher at the Purple Mountain Observatory. His research fields include gravitational wave astronomy and high-energy astrophysics. He is particularly interested in the formation and evolution of binary compact objects, the equation of state of neutron stars, and electromagnetic radiation produced by mergers. He obtained his bachelor's and master's degrees from Guangxi University and received his Ph.D. from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2019.
