摘要:In these lectures, we want to give a brief introduction on characteristic initial value problem (CIV). First we will give the construction of Bondi coordinates and the gauge choice of null tetrad. Second, we will give the field equations and the "reduced field equations system". Third, we will show what are the "reduced initial data"(un-constrained initial data) and the existence of analytic solutions. After that, we will briefly introduce J. Luk's proof of existence of "semi-local" solutions of CIV. If we have time, we will introduce the work black hole formation by Christodoulou.
