摘要：In these lectures, we want to give a brief introduction on characteristic initial value problem (CIV). First we will give the construction of Bondi coordinates and the gauge choice of null tetrad. Second, we will give the field equations and the "reduced field equations system". Third, we will show what are the "reduced initial data"(un-constrained initial data) and the existence of analytic solutions. After that, we will briefly introduce J. Luk's proof of existence of "semi-local" solutions of CIV. If we have time, we will introduce the work black hole formation by Christodoulou.

报告人简介：吴小宁研究员，2001年博士毕业于中科院数学与系统科学研究院；2002-2003， AEI洪堡学者；2003-2005， 国立中央大学博士后；2007年起，进入中科院数学与系统科学研究院工作。
