报告摘要:In this work, an alternative stochastic model for the fundamental diagram of traffic flow with minimal number of parameters is proposed. The key features of the model lie in its ``catastrophic" potential function as well as the stochastic nature, which makes it possible to describe the main features of the flow-concentration relation. In particular, the inverse-lambda shape as well as the wide scattering of congested traffic data are both reproduced. In our model, the inverse-$lambda$ shape and the associated sudden jump of physical quantities arise due to the existence of two simultaneous stable traffic flow states as well as the transition between them; the scattering of the data, on the other hand, is attributed to the noise terms introduced in the stochastic differential equations, it is shown that the stochastic noise changes the properties of the stability of the system in a non-trivial way. The model is then calibrated and compared qualitatively with the data. We show that main features of the traffic system are reasonably reproduced.


报告人简历:Wei-Liang Qian obtained his PhD in Fudan University in 2003 and currrently is "Professor Doutor" at University of Sao Paulo. His main research area is nuclear physics focusing on hydrodynamic models for relativistic nuclear collisions. In particular, he is interested in the following topics: phase transition, strangeness production, colletive flow and particle correlations.
