Abstract:It is known, by Rockafellar [SIAM J. Control Optim., 14 (1976), 877-898],
that the proximal point algorithm (PPA) converges weakly to a zero of a maximal monoto-ne operator in a Hilbert space, but it fails to converge strongly. Lehdili and Mouda [Opti-mization, 37(1996), 239-252] introduced the new prox-Tikhonov regularization method for PPA to generate a strongly convergent sequence and established a convergence property
for it by using the technique of variational distance in the same space setting. In this pap-er, the prox-Tikhonov regularization method for the proximal point algorithm of finding a zero for an accretive operator in the framework of Banach space is proposed. Conditions which guarantee the strong convergence of this algorithm to a particular element of the
solution set is provided. An inexact variant of this method with non-summable error seque-nce is also discussed.

姚任之,台湾中山大学应用数学系和台湾高雄医科大学数学系教授, 1990年获美国Stanford 大学博士学位,曾任台湾数学杂志(SCI) 主编, 台湾中山大学数学系主任、理学院院长。现任J Optim Theory and Appl (SCI), Applicable Analysis(SCI), J Nonlinear Convex Anal (SCI) , Fixed Point Theory(SCI) 等多个SCI刊物的编委及台湾国科会数学组评审专家。
主要从事向量优化、变分不等式、平衡问题、最优控制理论、不动点理论等领域的研究。先后主持台湾国科会自然科学基金项目十余项,出版专著2部,在SCI期刊上发表论文400余篇 特别是在优化理论的顶级刊物SIAM J Optim., SIAM J. Control Optim., Math. Prog.等权威期刊上发表论文20余篇。在2011年全世界数学家论文被引用次数最多的1178人中名列第42名。曾获台湾国科会研究奖、ESI from Thomson Reuters 的 Rising Star學者、2011年度中华民国数学会特殊贡献奖及2014年高倍引學著等奖励。
